Question one Should there be term limits on United States Senators and Congressmen?

Question two In states where one party controls the state legislature after the census is taken. Should the party in power have the power to gerrymander the districts to keep their party in power ?

Just for the record gerrymandering started in 1812 in Massachusetts .

Not that I am a supporter of term limits, but why don't you start in the area you live in?
Propose it to the charter committee in town.
Then push for term limits on those in our state legislators.

Why not let the voters decide at the poles... Do we really need more laws that do not work??

Looks to me like someone is swetting a long run of prosperity and stability... Some dreams don't work...

I thought you had a typo. I couldn't figure why I should start term limits. I never said I wanted them at all. I thought you were the one who wanted it.

Anything but Trump, right?? I think bobkat may be looking at many years of prosperity and stability with this non hack at the wheel...

The ultimate government would be the best, like the one we started out with when we all had the same King...

But no, 'they' just had to tinker with it... Now look!!!

We already have term limits... Four years then vote again...

You should be able to vote for anyone you want, that being said incumbents have a big advantage. Also you should have to serve 25 years before you can get a pension

We are just about heading back that way with single rule in this town. Eliminate elected boards, have a powerful town manager with so called selectmen as his bosses and no checks and balances.
The power brokers in this town ( charter review committee ) are in the process of making sure the residents have to kiss the ring of the town manager if you want/need something even if your legally entitled to it.
ALL HAIL MIKE M.!

Eric K again you passing false information . The charter committee can ask for anything and town meeting can go along with it. But those changes can only happen with a town wide election . This town has two sides to it. Local elections this town votes for the Dems and when there is a state wide or national election .This town votes Republican. So you should be working to get your no voters to the polls .

False information my ass.
Was this charter committee elected? No it was not.
Was there an option for an election of charter committee members? Yes, there was.
The people on that group were hand picked by a former board of selectmen. It's to make sure those who are in power stay in power.
They can't have afford to have people like John Cusick getting on these boards and start asking questions about where the taxpayers/ratepayers money is going. Amongst other things.
You would be correct it can only happen at town meeting. Though it will be interesting to see how much this is pushed ( getting the followers to town meeting ) as well as the money that could be pumped into this.
I will do my best to inform the public of my thoughts on it, but one person can not do it alone.
I have been to all three forum meetings on this and I am not the least bit convinced of their reasoning to go this direction.
