Re: Equalizer 2 Filming

I was walking along Brant Rock and there was a set construction company doing major work on one of the old barn-like properties near the Jetty restaurant. So it looks as if they are starting. Don't think filming will start until early November.

Huge fence around blackmans point park

Has anyone seen the giant fence erected around Blackmans point park? I understand that it is a private area but there is a public access to a public beach that now cannot be used. Were the people there bothered by the beach users? Now they have a private beach that we are blocked from using. This wa...

Re: new 270 unit complex proposed

Bridges: Please correct me if I am wrong but I understood that the affordable housing piece only stands for 10 YEARS. Ocean Shores must be half way through that 10 year time frame. If this is right then we are back in the hole after 10 years. I hope I am incorrect but that piece of AH should be chan...

new 270 unit complex proposed

What do people think about the 270 unit 40B unit proposed on Commerce Way? Personally, I am stunned by the size of this complex. This will have a huge impact on this town. The traffic, the schools and overall cost of adding so many residents to the town. Also only 10% is considered affordable and no...

Re: A 2.6% bill to pay a bill??

What does this mean? What is a bill pay check? Does this say that I cannot pay with a normal check anymore? This is crazy. Let me tell you that the online pay system is not accurate. I stopped using it when I had an error on how much I owed and had to take all my info to town hall to prove.

Re: Flood Maps: Are we supposed to pass these?

Unbelievable is all I can say. When I bought my home, they didn't have govt backed flood insurance but I should have anticipated that. I guess I should have been an Oracle who predicts floods, wars and economic downturns. Also does marshfield have a history of repeat flood damaged homes that take ad...

I obviously dont mean that the govt will physically force anyone out of their home. However people that bought their homes NOT in flood zones will be forced to buy. I've been told that my little house Will eventually cost 8000 every year. I live 4 miles away from ocean but live near river. Have live...

Re: Flood Maps: Are we supposed to pass these?

I still don't understand how someone who believes half the town will be underwater, did support ocean shores and the airport expansion. Both properties were right in the flood plain. So the answer is to bankrupt a town and force middle class families to be forced out of their homes. Most of these pe...

Re: Flood Maps: Are we supposed to pass these?

How is this going to affect marshfield and it's house values? I can only assume it will be disastrous for this town. Most people seem oblivious to the seriousness of the situation. I find it unbelievable that our MA senators and congressmen are not doing more to mitigate the long-term financial cost...

Here's the problem. We are broke! That link you posted was extremely helpful. It appears to me that it is a good idea to purchase flood insurance now. Will attend meeting and contact agent. Apparently cost of insurance will take a bit of time before it really hurts. However this is going to be a burden for this town.

My house has been moved to the flood zone.
